When Vista was first released for computers - Microsoft was confident that it would be a great hit with everyone. But as with all things Microsoft there were glitches in it that annoyed most people to the point that it turned them away. Most of the time Microsoft’s products have technical problems – but when it comes to Vista and Vista BitLocker it was more the fact that it was never up to date with corporate upgrade cycles.
Vista started out as a revolutionary reworking of the Windows operating system - but the fact that it arrived late and with some important programs cut out (the main one being WinFS file system) many people were too upset and disappointed to give it much of a try. There were a few technical problems with Vista (though not as many as usual). Many people were dissapointed with the device-driver availability and the user-account controls. People - who are used to the XP program were confused on how to set up the user accounts and what controls each user would have.
Another problem that people have had has been with the Vista BitLocker – which is the disk-encryption technology in Vista. The BitLocker does not have the proper centralized management controls that most companies require. Yet, even with tis problem they will still be using the program because the technology it used for encryption is ready for the Vista program. They are hoping that the other problems will be fixed shortly.
Frankly businesses are the majority who are using the program because it has what is called Vista’s Meeting Space. This meeting space is perfect for large corporations because it allows all of the computers to network more easily together using peer to peer features. This is a feature that is used through Vista’s IPv6.
When it comes to personal computers people are just not as interested in it. There are some who love to use it for their personal computers - but most of them have decided not to bother with it. Because there is more negative reports than positive ones on it they have chosen to stick with XP.
