Second Life Game On CellphoneI think everyone can agree that playing Call of Duty and Need for Speed on your cell phone is not as enjoyable as playing the full versions of the games on your popular gaming console. Game play is slow and the controls on the phone make it difficult to play the way you need to. Yet, now that gaming is becoming more popular and the wireless industries are introducing newer and faster features they are creating better ways to enjoy games on our mobile phones.

Vollee is a new company that is working to bring the multiplayer PC games to life on a cell phone. Instead of installing the game onto the phone everything (sounds and graphics) are streamed to the phone. This is also how you watch a mobile TV show on your phone. This allows you to have all of the features that you would normally have if you were playing on your computer.

The first game that Vollee has supported is the popular virtual world Second Life. CEO of the company – Martin Dunsby – did state that they have many more games in the works and are working on several deals with some of the major publishers. One of the biggest games that they are hoping to introduce in Activision Blizzard’s World of Warcraft.

“Clearly there’s huge demand from Warcraft players, and we’d love to satisfy that demand. We believe mobile is an essential part of any virtual world experience,” says Dunsby. “In the real world, people want to be able to take their email and chat mobile, and the exact same thing is true for virtual worlds.”

While you’re playing on the phone you won’t be able to lead any raids because the phone is not the same as a PC and won’t be able to handle that much action. However, you will be able to log in to your account, chat with other players, and maybe even battle it out one-on-one with a few people.

Vollee’s service is currently an open beta and those who have a 40 odd compatible handset model will be able to try out the service for free. The only thing you want to make sure you have is an unlimited data plan from your cell phon provider.
