They are stepping up this game even more by offering to host certain Web apps on its infrastructure through the use of their new App Engine. App Engine for developers is going to be competing with Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud and Salesforce’s Appexchange. It seems that the competition may all go to Google for the fact that all of the basic services offered by Google are absolutely free.

Adobe PhotoshopAdobe is making their popular Photoshop program and making it easier for more people to use it. They have decided to offer the basic version of the program for free online. They have always been popular in the past – but they are hoping that this new free edition will spark interest in some of the newer consumers.

Verizon logoThis week Yale University performed a real-world internet test that showed results that were both dramatic and drastic. “Intelligent” peer-to-peer traffic can drastically lower network utilization and speed up downloads for subscribers. Verizon was one of the many that participated in the research study and stated that they will be releasing the details this week at the Distributed Computing Industry Association’s P2P Market Conference in New York City.
