'Cellphones' At AfterTek

BlackberryBarack Obama was elected to be the next President - which means he is going to be getting a lot of new things like a new house and maybe a few new cars. With all this freedom we never thought that he would have to give anything up - but the government is saying that he has to make a sacrifice. He will no longer be able to use his Blackberry once he takes office.

Motorola PhonesMotorola is working to stop the most recent financial problems by focusing all of its effort into the new Android operating system. The company is hoping that the Android will be similar to the OS - but for cell phones. Already they have put together a team of 350 developers for the Android system to turn it into a mobile business.

Motorola is one of many of the original members of the OHA (Open Handset Alliance) - which is the main backers of Android. The one thing that Motorola and the other members have in common is the fact that they all use proprietary software interfaces. Motorola has always been weak when it comes to the software interface - but this might improve things.

iPhone USB AdapterApple is recalling the brand new ultra compact USB adapter plug that came with the new iPhone 3G handsets. According to the manufacturer the blades of the plug can snap off and remain lodged inside the electrical outlet. This creates a risk of people getting electrically shocked.

So far no injuries have been reported - but the company does not want to take any chances and is asking for users to take advantage of their new exchange program. Through this program they will receive stronger plugs. On the Apple website they said, “Customer safety is always Apple’s top priority, and therefore we have voluntarily decided to exchange every ultracompact power adapter for a new, redesigned adapter, free of charge.”
