The technology world was shocked when an obituary for Steve Jobs - Apple CEO - was published Wednesday and made its way across the world. Along with the obituary was a list of his accomplishments and the great work that he has done with Apple.
We are happy to report that the rumors concerning his death are false. Bloomberg News wanted to have a bit of fun except for the fact that they were not actually supposed to publish the obit. Someone forgot to mark the story for “hold, not for release”.
The first few lines provide a general view over his entire career and his most appreciated contributions to today’s technological progress. “Steve Jobs, who helped make personal computers as easy to use as telephones, changed the way animated films are made, persuaded consumers to tune into digital music and refashioned the mobile phone, has XXXX. He was TK. Jobs XXXX, TK said XXXXX. ”
Bloomberg’s editors deleted the story and wrote, “An incomplete story referencing Apple Inc. was inadvertently published by Bloomberg News at 4:27 p.m. New York time today. The item was never meant for publication and has been retracted.”
Many who read the obit knew that it was a joke - but there were others who grew concerned and believed it to be true. They believed that Jobs was suffering from a recurrence of pancreatic cancer - which he had treated back in 2003. We just want to wish Jobs a good life and we hope to have him around for a long time to come.
