Intel Corp is improving computers by creating the Intel Core 2 Extreme quad core processor for desktops which will help them to run smoother and faster than ever before. The new processor will come with 15 server dual-core and quad-core 45nm Hi-k Intel Xeon processors. The release of the Intel Core 2 was apart of the Penryn release. Intel says that this is their biggest breakthrough yet.
Dean Freeman – an analyst at Gartner Inc. – is expecting the new processors to be close to 50% faster than anything Intel has made. When it comes to games and multimedia you can expect it to run 40% faster. “It’s going to mean a faster desktop. It’s a more powerful tool, operating applications faster,” said Freeman. “Basically, it means that for those of us who are concerned about the speed at which applications work on our desktop, the good news is that it will work faster.”
Boyd Davis – one of the many general managers at Intel – believes that this processor is something that many gamers will hone in on because it will increase their experience. “The Penryn architecture blends notably high performance with significant steps forward in power efficiency,” he added. “It’s a bit like a new sports car that hits a higher top speed than previous models, while simultaneously delivering better gas mileage.”
Intel is releasing the Core 2 Extreme processor today – which will be mainly for the gamers in the world and those who use market research. Intel has decided to wait till the first quarter of 2008 to reveal the Core 2 Quad processors and Core 2 Duo processors.
