Fujitsu U820Fujitsu announced this week that they have updated the UMPC-like U series and the smaller P-series LifeBook tablet. These were designed to be used in vertical markets and are sure to appeal to buyers who need a portable Netbook – but will be able to pay more for a featured set.

The 5.6 inch LifeBook U820 has been giving a GPS receiver and an integrated Garmin Mobile PC software that can give driving directions. This model has been built on a Z-series Intel Atom processor and comes equipped with 1GB of RAM. There are two hard drives that are available and include the 120GB or the solid state 64GB drive.

Mobile workers will enjoy the many features that it comes with which include a 1.3 mega pixel web camera, Kensington lock slot, fingerprint reader, and WWAN – which will be offered in 2009. This model will be offered immediately at a starting price of $1,049.

Those of you who want a bigger screen can opt for the 8.9 inch P1630 LifeBook. It is equipped with Centrino 2 components that include Ultra Low Voltage Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 Processor and a 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity. It also comes with a 1.3 mega pixel web camera, Bluetooth connectivity, an optional solid state drive, and WWAN – which will come in 2009. It will be available immediately with a starting price of $2,179.
