Barack Obama was elected to be the next President - which means he is going to be getting a lot of new things like a new house and maybe a few new cars. With all this freedom we never thought that he would have to give anything up - but the government is saying that he has to make a sacrifice. He will no longer be able to use his Blackberry once he takes office.

Why? According to the U.S. government they will not be able to guarantee full security when he uses it. This ban might also include his e-mail. Obama is very much into his gadgets and uses them to communicate with people and to keep things in order. It looks as if he might actually have to revert to the ways of the older generation.

Which might be a hard transition for him. People have noticed that he is one of the most technologically advanced President that we have had. He uses an Apple Macbook - which he constantly used throughout the whole campaign as a way to stay in touch with his family.

But the Blackberry phone is one of his favorite gadgets and one that he will sorely miss. It was a way for him to stay not only connected to the real world - but also to pass and receive information from his personal aides. But even though he will give up this gadget he admits that he might still use his laptop. That will make him the first President to use a laptop in the oval office. My how times are changing!
