VeriSign released a statement this week stating that all registry fees for both .net and .com domain names will be increased this year. This new change is due to the new agreements they have been making with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers and will begin October 1st.
VeriSign said the registry fees for .com and .net domain names will increase to $6.86 and $4.23, from $6.42 and $3.85, respectively.
Adobe is making their popular Photoshop program and making it easier for more people to use it. They have decided to offer the basic version of the program for free online. They have always been popular in the past – but they are hoping that this new free edition will spark interest in some of the newer consumers.
Netflix is still trying to work out some of the kinks and problems that they are having with their site. They finally got their site up and running after being down for a straight 11 hours – but are still trying to work out problems in the ratings and recommendations part of the site.
“This is part of the site that we haven’t been able to get back online yet,” Swasey said. “Otherwise the site is fully functioning. We’re shipping and receiving.” That’s in contrast to Monday, when the glitch hobbled Netflix’s logistics and shipping systems as well as the Web site. The company was unable to fulfill all of the orders scheduled to go out.
