Microsoft Corp. has decided to extend its warranty on the Xbox 360 video game console to one year from the previous limit of 90 days. The change announced Friday applies to future and present game owners. The one-year warranty matches what Sony Corp. and Nintendo Co., already offer on their latest video game consoles, the PlayStation 3 and the Wii.
Microsoft said it extended the deal to make its U.S. and Canadian warranty consistent with what it offered in many other countries. Customers who already have paid repair bills on Xbox consoles that they’ve owned for less than one year will automatically get refunds, Microsoft said in a statement.
Paleontologists stated that they have discovered the remains of Europe’s largest dinosaur on record near Riodeva, Spain. The plant-eater, which scientists named Turiasaurus, died about 150 million years ago. The size of the bones puts the creature among the largest dinosaurs to walk the earth, scientists said.
Its skeleton is the most complete of the super-giants, said Paul Upchurch at University College London, who participated in the study. Because the fossil is so complete, Upchurch said scientists should be able to learn more about how the long-necked sauropod got so big.
Nintendo is continuing to enhance the unique functionality of the Nintendo Wii that now extends itself into the Internet. Wii players can use the Opera browser similar to the way you could direct the mouse pointer with a 3D mouse. This is a rare variant of computer mice that typically are attached to one of your fingers. Wii users can simply point the remote at something on the page and zoom in on that object with the “+” button. Once zoomed in, the Wii Remote allows you to pan around the page while remaining in zoom mode.
